Canada Day Parade And Fireworks

Canada Day starts off with a parade, last year we had some awesome floats, marching bands, children on bikes and horse and rider too. It was so much fun. Then we had a party in the park. There was a Bounce A Rama castle and games with prizes for the kids, hot dogs, pop and barbecued salmon for all. Entertainment was proved by Annie Handley and Dave Devindisch of Easy Street and they were just bloody awesome. The market folks from the Saturday Farmers Market set up their tents and tables where one and all could purchase gifts, food and other crafts. Then when the evening came, we all headed down to the log sort for a wonderful display of fireworks  along with hot chocolate and cupcakes. Man, fun was had by all.

Kusam Klimb

The Kusam Klimb is a wild and rugged 23 km loop heading up and over Mount H’Kusam and down the Stowe Creek watershed. Starting at sea level, participants pass through some of the most spectacular scenery on Vancouver Island with views of mountain peaks and the Johnstone Strait as they negotiate their way over the well-developed trail. While the trail is open for year-round hiking, an organized event is held once per year on the summer solstice. The Kusam Klimb draws participants from around the world hoping to conquer the mountain! Are YOU tough enough?

Sayward Car Show

The sun was shinning, the band was playing, burgers were being flipped, crafts were up for sale and parked on the grass were some very sweet rides. These cars, trucks and motorcycles were incredible. This is the Sayward Valley Show and Shine Show held at the Sayward Valley Resort. If you have not been yet, then its time you did. Frank and Faith Morgan know how to put on a car show. Make sure you make it to the show this year, bring your camera. There is live music, great food and the auto owners love to chat.
