Sayward River Guest House

Salmon River Guesthouse is located in the heart of the Sayward Valley on Northern Vancouver Island. Built in the 1930’s as the residence of the general store, the house has been gently modernized and renovated but still maintains much of its original character and charm.

There are three rooms available so please inquire if you have a group wanting to book an entire house! Would be a great place for getting married. Views of the mountains and river are incredible.

We have kayaks and canoes that are free for guests to use and swimming in the river can be a great way to cool down in the heat of summer.

 Campgrounds and RV sites

Elk Creek Rec Site

A small, shady site next to a creek. An open forest makes for easy exploration. Also, there is a maintained trail on the south side of the access road. Take time to visit the nearby Village of Sayward and Kelsey Bay. The gate is now open and will remain so until the fall.

To get there from Campbell River, follow Highway 19 north. The site access road is on the left hand side of the highway (sign visible), just past the turnoff to Sayward. The site is about an hour drive from Campbell River.

This is a pretty site, just 5 minutes from the Sayward Junction.

The land is a rambling 60 plus acres along the Salmon River.  This magnificent property has been undergoing renovations and recovery for the past few years.  This work is continuing, the results of which we are proud to share with our guests.

We have two self-contained suites available. The Arbour Suite is on the ground floor over-looking the grape arbour and meadow.  The suite has private access from a semi-private covered deck. Our second floor Mountain Suite has a stunning view of Mount H’kusam and meadows. The yard area offers a fire pit, picnic table – perfect for toasting marshmallows. The trails and beaches along the river are a wonderful place to explore.  The meadow often is visited by black-tailed deer, Roosevelt elk, eagles, hawks, and many other birds. In early summer the hummingbirds arrive and are mesmerizing to watch.
